George Blanda was a place-kicker and quarterback. He was released by the Raiders in ’70, but returned to make one of the most dramatic comebacks in history. Beginning with the game at Pittsburgh, Blanda came off of the bench to relieve the injured quarterback. For five consecutive weeks, Blanda put together clutch performances leading the Raiders to victory. George played 26 seasons of pro football (the most in history) playing his last gave at the age of 48. When he retired he had scored more points than anyone in pro football history.
